1989 W126 420SEL No Start
1989 420SEL doesn't start. Battery is good, fully charged. Starter was replaced with a new Bosch 8 months ago. The starter does not turn at all. Seems like it isn't getting any power.
Could the relay between the ignition switch and the starter be failing? Which relay? What else could be causing no power to the starter? Anything else to check?

Try starting in neutral. Shifter bushings failing are a common problem and will prevent the starter engaging. Often times, attempting starting in neutral can quickly rule out anything else. If it cranks, you have bad shifter bushings or a failing/failed neutral safety switch.

Tip for NSS install...
Install snug but able to move. Have car fully secure in air in reverse, tweak NSS until real lamps light. Tighten. Drop car, consume beverage of your choice.
