98 E320, Blower keeps running

My daughters 1998 E320 sat for two months until I recovered from open heart surgery. The battery completely discharged. Now with a decent battery, the blower fan for the climate control will not shut off. The AC works fine when the engine is running with full control over the fan speed. When the ignition is turned off, the blower switches to another mode and blows out the defroster. I've pulled the fuses, both under the hood and by the battery, that are supposed to control the climate control but the blower keeps running, so obviously it has another source of power. Your suggestions will be welcomed!

Blower regulator is bad, unscrew 3 screws under rf of dash , pull panel the
you will see round blower , disconnect plug at regulator and replace, size 20 torx bit to remove regulator

Thanks, but Rats! I remember replacing that regulator about 7 years ago and it wasn't fun lying on your back under the dash. I was hoping it was something else.
Question: There are a load of new regulators on ebay under $20. Anyone had any experience with them? She is going to get another car quite soon and hate to put folding money into an OEM unit.

The "proper" fix for this is a new Blower Regulator but it is a miserable thing to install - especially when you are 80 and don't "bend well" anymore.
The regulator otherwise seems to be fine as the AC works and all fan speeds are available.
As she is not keeping this car long, I'd like to simply install a switch for her to kill power to the blower when the car is parked but I can't find the fuse that feeds the blower. The data sheet states that the Regulator is fed from fuses 4 & 7 but pulling them has no effect on the operation of the blower.
Anyone have any ideas as to how to switch it off?

Nulu, that is a very kind offer! I will try to get to the regulator and see what it looks like and advise you. I last saw it about 7 years ago.

Nulu, I just managed to get myself both in and out of under the dashboard and found that your controller is "the other one" so many thanks for your kind offer but I will pass on it. I looked up your model on ebay and noticed that with cables, they are selling for a minimum of $25 for non-oem versions.
Thanks again!

Just received the $14 Chinese copy of the original BEHR controller, installed it and it works just fine. Too bad they don't enclose instructions to tell to apply a thin layer of "Silicone Heat Transfer Paste" to each surface as it makes all the difference in efficiency and lifetime.
Thanks for all the kind comments! Hope she replaces this car so I won't have to do this job again!
