87 W124 Key and lock set replacement - no longer available from MB??

I stopped by the dealer here in Las Vegas the other day to order an ignition tumbler/key set and driver door lock for the 300D and was told it is no longer available from MB. Can this be true? Any suggestions for sourcing a new lock set and keys?

They're NLA for the W126 as well. You can still get the key cut by VIN, but you can't get the lock cylinder anymore. They do have a generic "Mechanic's" lock cylinder with key, but it is not VIN matched, comes with only 1 key which they will not duplicate, and costs ~$140 for what's essentially a $30 Meyle lock.

At least we can get keys still.

Worth a call to the Classic Center, see what they have to say.

I ordered a new lock tumbler in Oct from MB dealer for my '88 260E. Oh yeah, I gave them $103.53 for it.

Maybe I can get them to search a different year 124, maybe locks and tumblers are the same for at least a year or two.

I remembering paying $750 at the dealer for all 3 locks and the tumbler for my 300CD. This was 15 years ago, when apparently I had way to much money...

Would you also be able to get a "valet" key?

I saw this when I needed to replace my tumbler, however, I preferred having one key to fit all the locks. Other than that, it would have been a viable option - certainly nicer price :)

Thanks for the PN. I found it online so I went ahead and ordered the lock cylinder for my dad's MB. Got a good deal too here https://www.mbpartsprime.com/oem/mercedes-lock_cylinder-1264600604.html

No clue, never asked. If I am going to a place that will valet my ride, I just take a Lyft or Uber.
