W126 Euro Lights

Hey folks, just thought I would throw out a little tidbit on euro headlight glass if anyone is looking for some.

Before I get into the details the past few months I scored big on some sets of euro lights for both my 2 cars.

One set in mint shape with euro wiper motors, the 2nd in good shape but one is missing the glass and insert trim; which are vac adjustable.

ANd the 3rd is complete but the glass is pretty pitted.
I am still in shock that I scored the 2nd 2 sets last week on the same day at the local wrecker, cant believe it

I painted the trim pieces internally to go with the look i want on the car. I have seen a few do the black and sliver combo and i think it looks really good against a grill with the honeycomb painted black.

One was missing the rear cover, so i designed the cover and 3d printed it. Fits perfectly lol.

Anyways, I wanted to get some glass, and here in Canada it is nearly impossible. So first line of attack, the benz dealer. Sometimes right from the source the benz parts are cheaper then on ebay. After a bit of part number juggling. i got a price of 255$ each ... ouch

P/N BTW for reference for LHD cars is
DS: BOSCH# 1305620451
MB# A0028265690

PS: BOSCH# 1305620452
MB#A0028265590

So off to the net i go on a prowl. Ebay is around 100$ + shipping and all that other fun stuff..

Amazon had IMO a smoking deal.

But they wouldn't ship to Canada

So back on to ebay, and right on the bottom, hidden away, i found this great resource for anyone who is interested. Hopefully it is ok for me to post all this info and links.

Seller is oldielens.. Fresh from Deutschland!

I ordered 3 sets, and so far the seller is great!. he shipped DHL to here in Canada.
He also has a bunch of other MB lenses, he also mention he has Pagoda lenses for anyone who is interested.

I thought this would be a good tidbit of info for folks. Im stocked up for life now. LOL

If anyone has a lead on a passenger side insert trim that would be great!. if not, ill just design it up, and 3d print a replacement.

I cant seem to get enough of these old benzes. it really is an addiction. LOL. one of my buds is starting to catch my disease, hes been looking for a w201 to do up. lol

I am about to replace the one of the lenses (E-Code/ECE) on my 1992 Euro C124 300CE. How are the old lenses removed and what adhesive for the new one?

I converted my 300SDL to ECE lights. What an improvement!

Which wrecker do you go to?
The one I used to frequent in Scarborough burned and will probably not re-open.

The 124 lens snaps in place. When removing, care must be take not to break the plastic tabs which are part of the light housing. No sealant is used but I usually remove the seal and rub it with silicone grease to keep it from drying out.

Other models such as the 116 and 126 use metal clips to hold the lens in place. When installing the clips it is important to hook them over the glass first and then snap it over the plastic housing. Doing the reverse will damage the glass lens.
