Acceleration problem

I have a 94 C280, and been having a couple of ongoing problems that couldn't solve myself without bringing it to the shop.

1. Starting problem. Had to crank it a few times before it runs. The shop technician told me one time that the check valve may be the problem. Can I buy the check valve from Phil and replace it myself? Where is this check valve located. Please advise.

2. The car running great if it starts from a stop position, and would accerlerate normally. If I slow down after the turn, car would not accelerate, and would not downshift, running up very slowly. Any advise? Fuel injectors clog? Air mass sensor? please help.

After read many threads here, I solved my high running temperature problem by simply replaced the fuse for the first stage of auxiliary fan to turn-on. I had this problem after replaced the water pump. After couple of months of frustration, the information in this forum helped me find the problem. Thank everyone a million for that.
