M104 plug/coil wires?

It seems I can’t buy a Mercedes kit anymore. Mercedes says I need to buy bulk wire and make the wires. Is there equivalent alternative brand I could use? Rock auto has a few kits..Pelican sells a karlyn. Anyone have an opinion with that brand?

NGK, Bosch, if keeping the car get something with a lifetime warranty. The coil to plug boots do fail.

I’ll give the Ngk a try. Definitely keeping the car. It’s got a few issues I’m trying to track down. One of them is a faint random/intermittenting misfire. Doesn’t feel like a coil but could be a wire

Try to find an oldschool shop, they have the crimping tools for these exact jobs and will do it at a rather reasonable cost too.

Looks like a crimping tool is only $20. Might just grab that and put this **** together

Random misfires can be coils, plugs, coil to plug connectors and/or wires. Look closely at any wire set to be certain that it includes the 3 coil to plug connectors. A faint gray graphite like powder around the exterior ceramic of the spark plug where it meets the end of the rubber boot is a sign the coil to plug connector is bad and causing misfires. Seen it several times.

Coils with butterscotch lettering are old and were replaced with blue lettering.

I have some F8DC4's NIB if you are interested send me a PM.

Good luck!!!

Plugs are new.. I’ll check things out and look closer. It’s a very weak misfire.. kinda like a hiccup now and then. Only noticeable under load when driving. nothing at idle or even reving in park.

I found Bosch kits somewhere a few months ago, either FCP or *********. I've seen some postings somewhere regarding Karlyn that were not encouraging.

Went with the karlyn from pelican parts and my misfire cleared up. I order a lot of stuff from pelican and I’m sure they would return a set of plug wires if I wasn’t happy.
