Remus Exhausts

A question to my fellow 16V owner or anybody with a Remus Exhausts. Is it me or is the chrome on my pipe are fading :confused: It seem to me that the chrome is coming off
starting from the end moving towards the tips of the exhausts. I would said now is 40 (wear out area ) and 60 of chrome left. Is
this normal wear and tear? I had the Remus for about 3 yrs. now
Let me know if you know anything about this or how to pervent further wear...thanx
