W124 SLS. real-time?

Hi folks,
Tech question re. W124 sls system: how real-time are SLS adjustments in ride height? It’ll adjust the rear end when the distance between axle and chassis increases or decreases beyond neutral, but will it do this on a speed bump, or when negotiating a steep grade which places extra weight on the rear end for more than a few seconds? From my understanding the valve will adjust ride height regardless of the situation or time, and the latency built into the system depends on engine speed and overall system health - the systems ability to build and drop pressure. So a speed bump will activate the valve to increase pressure momentarily but the system is just too slow to respond so nothing will happen. But a steep incline with more than a few moments of increased weight will activate and actually raise the rear end.
Is this correct? Thanks in advance.
P.
