Rotor weight Mercedes vs OEM

Wanted to buy powerstop brake kit but was advised by my dealer to stay with the original Mercedes rotors only. Can someone explain why I can't use non MB parts?

The dealer can’t advise you to use non mb parts because it’s not in their best interest and also for liability. Nothing wrong with using non mb parts it’s something you gotta do your homework on.
