I have tried several site and my VIN comes back as "invalid". There are several "0"s and "O"s--maybe I am confusing them. I even used the VIN as it appears on the Title which differentiates "O" form "0" a little better.
Here is what I see as the VIN---WDBGB20A0CB031901

You picture is sort of fuzzy, but the 4th character is the series (w126) which should be a C not G. The VINs are in multiple locations and I think also under the drivers windshield glass so you could compare.

Thanks, but I have a '82 300SD; not a 2012 W126 (?) S class. Maybe I'll try a different decoder.

Ah ha!!! success using the MBWorld decoder
Thanks
