HVAC Blower Won't Turn Off / Stop Blowing

Hello,
I have a 1995 320E Sedan, 124 Chassis.

The HVAC Blower won't turn off even when the car is off, ignition out, etc. I've left it that way for hours thinking that it would auto-shut off but it never did after waiting for hours.

Only way I was able to have it turn off, was to disconnect the battery. Even taking out the fuse didn't help. Pressing on any of the interior climate control buttons doesn't do anything.

I've seen posts that talk about replacing the blower motor and/or the blower resistor but not entirely sure that it'll fix my problem.

Any recommendations / ways to fix it? I'm trying to save the hundreds of dollars to repair it in the shop and trying DIY.

Thanks in advance.
