W124 Fuel and Brake leak
 

Hello, so i just bought a 1994 e320 estate. Got the thing knowing it was going to be a project.Was told about oil leaking from headgasket, it needed an axle, power steering was all over the place. Anyways i got it home and the alxe broke up the st. Fixed the axle but after bleeding brakes i blew a brake line. While the car was up everytime the pump came on while the car is off it was pissing fuel everywhere.



couple of questions, fuel comes from passegnger side next to fuel tank with what looks two hardlines come out. does anyone have a diagram of whats what? does the tank need to be dropped?



brakes worked okay the way home, when bleeding them i blew a line. how hard is to rehardline the whole car? is there a howto or info?

Its not too difficult to remake all new hard lines - the difficult parts are getting the rear lines that are on top of the subframe.

Buy a giant roll of cunifer 3/16 brake line and some metric flare nuts that GM uses, you will also need a metric bubble flare tool and some bending tools.

The cunifer lines are forever install as they will never corrode out.

It will be a few days worth of work if its your first time and stuff is rusted.

Same for fuel lines, but use steel sections. All these parts are readily sold at parts stores.

Hey man thanks for the advice. I got under her today and found where the fuel leak Seems to come from. The tank has a larger line that goes to filter or pump? And there is a smaller rubber line above it I’m assuming it’s the return? It’s labeled 1/4, my first Benz but I know well enough they didn’t use anything sae. Anyways looking for information on correct fuel line sizes and fuel line diagrams if anyone has one? Picture below

manny1337, buy replacement rubber fuel lines from your local MB dealer. The Parts Department personnel will want to know your car's serial number so you get the proper part.

Was actually able to get under the car today, rain held off just long enough. Fuel return line is rotted when it goes up and around the suspension. The metal line that the rubber hose connected to was rotted in half. What size are the metal fuel lines? And do they sell any pre bent?
