2008 e350 pzev gas tank
 

Found a beautiful mint condish e350 that needs a gas tank. Sound like it’s a plastic that that Is prone to leaks and was in a warranty. This car has too many miles for a replacement. Has anyone changed a tank on their own? Sounds like it’s almost a $4k job at a shop.

The pzev tank is metal , could be a seal bad only there is no access to the fuel pump

My bad I thought I read it was plastic. I don’t have a problem with replacing the tank. I’ve even saw that someone had plumbed an external pump to make it work although not sure how that would work with ca smog.

Does the 08 still have other issues with the balance shafts?

Unless you have a spare parts car to swap a fuel tank from, the car is junk. Swapping the fuel tank involves swapping the rear subframe.
