Would it be a great dianostic enhancment for me to invest in a scanner for the 96 C280?

What scanner is recommended. There is a OBDll scanner by Actron that is about $150. Would this scanner do for general dianostic work on the car?

Where is the dianostic plug located for the scanner on the c280?
