Instrument cluster--back light display--how to replace

97 C230

How does one go about replacing the component (probably a bulb strip) for the back light of the outside temp and odo displays?

This almost certainly would involve the removal of the cluster, thus the removal of the steering wheel.

How do you remove the wheel? What about air bag?
How do you remove cluster?
