Heat thru air ducts
I have a '82 380 SL that is in slow restoration. At present the air conditioning does not work. I will eventually get around to having repaired but as for now there are more pressing issues.
Car runs well but after about ten minutes or so the air coming thru the air vents is definitely heated air. Is there some way that this can be stopped until I am ready to get to having the system repaired. I have the owners manual and am sure that the controls are turned to off positions. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Rayson |

CHECK YOUR MONO VALVE FOR HEATER CONTROL. LOCATED RIGHT REAR OF THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. A BROWN LOOKING VALVE WITH A STEEL SQUARE PLATE ON TOP OF IT. REMOVE THE 4 PHILLIP SCREWS & THE INNER VALVE ASSEMBLY. INSPECT THE RUBBER SEAL FOR CRACKS OR HOLES.
