W124 paint code for lower plastic panels?

Hi folks,

I've been tidying up my recently purchased E320 wagon. While the rest of the car is starting to look respectable now, the scrapes and chips on the lower plastic trim are now starting to stand out:

Does anyone know where I can find the paintcode for the lower trim? I want to get it looking it's best! It's a darker grey than the silver of the rest of the car.

Thanks

See if this helps...look in post 15. May be able to work backward using your upper paint code.

Good luck!!!

j-galap, aside from the paint code you need to learn the proper clear coat to use also. We had a 1992 300CE rear bumper replaced and the clear coat the bodyshop used never had the high gloss of the lower panels.

I believe the plate on the radiator support lists the paint codes for your vehicle. Also, a local MB dealer should be able to Search the MB database via the VIN and provide the paint codes to you.

Thanks folks!

Judging by the plate on the rad support and using that diagram from the linked post, it looks like my lower trim is Stratus Grey (7177).

Body paint: 744 "Brilliant Silver" matches 7177 on this diagram:

Looks about right?

I’ve had great results using paintscratch . com for my cladding. Always a pretty good match.

744 Brilliant Silver is also used with 7181 Atlas Grey. See if you can view color chips before purchasing.

X2 @ Ferdman...the clear coat matters. My 91 clear coat is satin like and is original paint, believed to be 8477.

Good luck!!!

Oh, Altas Grey looks close too (judging by what I can find online)

Now I'm in a pickle. Just called my local MB dealer and spoke to the helpful parts guy there. He looked up my VIN and could only find the 744 Brilliant Silver paint code on file for the car.

Here's a thought: some paint colours are of course year specific. Anywhere I can find the years these codes were used for?

I'm confused on mine because according to that chart, my nautical blue color 929 shows up twice on the cladding table. Once as Andor Blue, and once as Frigate blue. How do I know which of the two mine is?
