I have pulled module out of dash, but not sure how to remove electrical connectors on each side. This is a 1997 e420

If the connector looks like a little hood and the wires come out perpendicular to the plug pins, look for a little wrap around strap near the base of the connector. There will be a release catch that you press and then swing the strap up to vertical. The bottom of the strap has 2 hooks that grab horizontal pins inside the connector to pull it in and hold it secure.

To plug it back in make sure the strap is in the vertical position, insert the plug, and rotate the strap back to the locked position. Make sure the hooks caught the pins on both sides and it pulled the connector in snug.

Really nice connectors. Only reason I recognized it when I saw it is that European industrial equipment uses connectors like this except made out of die cast metal and much larger, but the same locking concept.
