89 560SEC crank sensor problem?

Hello all, been having extremely hard and sometimes non existent hot starts. I suspect crank sensor is possible culprit but don’t have the resistance specs . I tested it cold and with car fully warmed up. What it reads is .890 Kilo-ohms cold or hot.. does anyone know if that reading is within specs?

Looks good to me. I've had a 1991 car for almost 25 years and the CPS has never failed. CPS failures on these is rare. Apparently more common on later cars.

I had 30 second hot start misfires and new injectors and seals solved that. Also ensure that all HT is in 1st class condition.

Spec is 680-1200 ohms.

Thank you guys, I guess it’s toast if those are the specs

Attention to decimal points is required:
.890 K-ohms = 890 ohms

right in the middle of the spec!!!

You are absolutely correct. I am not the brightest bulb in the bunch sometimes. Would you know how I can test the EZL module?

you need to scope the crank sensor. i cobbled a harness from 123 abs sensors. hook it up to the ezl, then close the hood-builds heat. let it idle. when it stalls, crank it and see if the the scope line is flat. caught alot of the 102 and 103 crank sensors this way. they are more fragile than the ezl-easier to find when they fail. if the cranks sensor still has a signal, then look closer at the ezl.
