W124 dtc not working
 

93 300e 16 pin dtc
Unable to get codes or anything. The lil red light is lit but dim. Nothing happens when button is pressed. Cel does come on and off from time to time but does not come on when the key is put in the position 2 spot. Car runs great just trying to pass smog. Anyplace in particular I should look at first?

Since when has this been happening?

Probably about a year since we bought the car

Try resetting diagnostic module, it's under the dash , left side, disconnect plug reconnect
