Trans Control Module 06 E350AWD

Hi All,
I checked here and in my WSM but found little to help me locate the Trans Control Module without finding the right place, I lowered the kick panel in the passenger footwell but there was only a light bulb. I was hoping to find a small black box about 3"x3"x1/2, maybe a little smaller.

Anyone have another location?

TIA -

Thanks for the suggestion - I'll dig around in the area you had luck in.

Hopefully I'll find it! It's getting old seeing that gorgeous MB sitting in the driveway mocking me.

If that's a late 2006, it's possible that you have the 7 speed 722.9 transmission. If that's the case, it's integrated into the conductor plate. What's the reason you need to track down the TCM? Are you having trans issues? A true 2006 will be a 5 speed if it's AWD and a 7 speed if it's a 2WD.

Yep, it's a E350AWD with a 722.6. I serviced the trans - R&R'd the conductor plate, fluid & filter, also replaced the shifter plate trying to get it to upshift from low. I am using a

The only Trans code I get is "P0715 INPUT/TURBINE SPEED SENSOR A CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION". I am getting some cam related issues but I am fully knowledgeable about that. It's the P0715 came back after I cleared it following the Cond Plate R&R.

I have the Beckman procedure to clear all of the codes in ll the Modules. it has 2 options - by using the battery (disconnect the - cable, etc and #2 involves the ign switch & accel pedal.) I may even do both just o be sssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

Nope, not late 06, it's a E350AWD with a 722.6. I serviced the trans - R&R'd the conductor plate, fluid & filter, also replaced the shifter plate trying to get it to upshift from low. I am using an Innova Carscan 5110 OBD2 Reader and the following Auto Trans code keeps coming back:
"P0715 INPUT/TURBINE SPEED SENSOR A CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION". I am getting some cam related issues but I am fully knowledgeable about that. It's the P0715 that came back after I cleared it following the Cond Plate R&R.

BTW, I just came across a Beckman procedure to clear all of the codes in the Modules. it has 2 options - by using the battery (disconnect the - cable, etc and #2 involves the ign switch & accel pedal.) I may even do both just to have all bases covered. It was buried deeep in the computer but I believe it's still valid.

I am at the point that I have done the other possible problem areas and still have the problem (not upshifting) so when I can get the part # from the TCM (as soon as I can find the darn thing) I will get a new one. Not sure if I will try a used one 1st - you never know with electr stuff. But I can try resetting the codes using the Beckman method. I will search my WSM - perhaps it's in there somewhere....

There's oe other problem it has that may or may not be related. It has a Battery Warning in the dash screen. I have replaced both batteries, the alternator and cycled the windows, sunroof etc but the warning stays. I can't see how it would relate to the shift problem but I don't know.

So there you have the whole lurid story. I am getting pretty frustrated.

I'll take any help you care to offer? Thanks for the reply!

Larry
