2003 e500
Oh boy I have done it now. I bought one today at auction for $2100. 2 owner no wrecks. 35 service records. She runs like a scalded dog. Wow. Crack windshield, no options that I can tell. SRS light on. No leaks. The air suspension is working I think. It’s a little firm on the bumps. But is sitting level. Cold a/c and new kumhos. Filthy filthy. Broken visors. But a strong runner. Not sure what I’m gonna do with it.
I bought an 06 e320 last week. Got about $4000 in it. It’s flawless. Just haven’t been here in a while. Thought it was time to update. I dying to see my signature. Lol |
Good to see you again Joe.

Thanks guys. Good to here from you Jim Hope all is well down there on the home front Does your wifes GLK have that many miles now? wow!
Just picked up the e500 from auction its pretty decent for the money strong a/c panel is dim Took me a minute get it blowing cold It blows colder air on Pass side tho. I got to do some research on the air suspension settings i found it rode best with all lights off on the switches It may be on it way out or maybe these Kumho tires are not the best But it goes down the freeway like a freight train Just not as smooth as the e350 Got a few broken bits on the interior that I will hunt down at LKQ or evilbay Is there anything about the e500 I should check on? Services? It has a tremendous carfax but faded out the last couple yrs Thanks Good to be back Have i even hit 1000 comments yet? LOL |
The 500 e is collectible.

And that engine has a reputation for being reliable if properly serviced.

appreciate the replies....after spending the weekend with the car i cant decide to keep or sell. I am digging the power band and just the overall good condition of the car all the working features radio sounds good to to be what it is. Around town it just does not hit the bumps right for me kinda dances over them with a litte bit of the tail end stepping out. Freeway gosh its your typical mercedes freight train Seems like the airmatic functions as intended the tires fooled me at first looked newish due to wide channels in the 4 grooves but upon closer inspection they are almost to the wear bars. I am curious if new shoes will help the in town ride? maybe I dont know I could prodably sell it for $3900 in a few days hmmmm
