Climate Control Unit Version Change

99 E320 Mercedes, vin A743325: Replaced CCU with new "Used" unit this Winter. Bad display on old one. All well during Winter. Now that things are warmer, problem with engine fan. Fan not coming on when engine temp rises. No fan when AC is turned on. Replaced engine fan with new, engine fan controller with new. Still nothing. Ran diagnostic on CCU. Am told by someone who knows more than I (I know very little) that the fault is in the CCU.

Wrong Version numbers for my car. Current reading on CCU is #42=00 and #43=112. Am told that readings should be #42=40 and #43=152. Am told that I should change P1 to 40 and P2 to 152. Great, but how do I do that???

Right now, with temps rising, I can't drive car very far safely.....
Thanks in advance!!
