I jumped the relay and the pumps ran but didnt try starting at that time.
No, did not check the fuel lines at the block yet. The pumps run now with the new relay. I will proceed by checking the fuel lines when I get back to the car in a day or two. Thank you for the suggestions. |
300E still no start. Bosch fuel pressure test PSI ?
Hello. Back to work on friends car after a bit of a delay.
The fuel hose to the distributor was in bad shape all blown up like a ballon so we replaced that and the fitting that connects the hose to the distributor and the copper seal. Cranks good but still no start. Tried pouring some fuel into the bowl and that didn’t help. I have a Bosch fuel pressure gauge kit that was missing some connectors like the T so I am collecting the bits and pieces that are needed. Question: fuel pressure. Is 25-30 PSI the correct range or is it 40 PSI? I thought that 40 PSI is the pressure but have read that the range is 25-30 on the CSI. Any advice is much appreciated. |
Have you checked for spark?

Spark not
Hello. I have not yet moved onto the electrical system.
What is the best method to check spark? |
Use a loose spark plug if you have one, or remove a plug from the engine. Connect the wire to the plug and use a jumper wire to connect the ground electrode to the battery negative terminal or any good engine ground.
Crank the engine. You should see a blue spark. If not, there is an ignition system fault. You should be able to see the blue spark in daylight, but it's best if the plug is shaded from the sun. Duke |
