Does anyone know where I can buy the guide rod nuts (?) without buying an entire guide rod set?

A metal shop should be able to make something that works.

The metal strip only holds the nut when tightening the bold.
Since it fits in a narrow gap I would check with a piece of wood how thick the nut can be.

That's what I was thinking about, it will be higher quality and stronger. When I did the psg side last year after a crash, I had the nut tack welded to the metal strip for extra strength when installing it.
