w124 rear headrests compatibility
Hello, I got my hands on a w124 1990 coupe, and I'm planning to fix the interior and add more options to it (OEM)
I want to know the compatibility of the following parts from a sedan or wagon with the couple. Rear headrests and it's folding mechanism. Parcel shelf. Rear windows wiring loom and the window regulator. Rear roller blinds. Front door card. Bonnet. Thanks 😁 |
Compatibility
Rear window regulators are completely different from wagon/sedan, not sure about harness.
Front door panels/cards are completely different than wagon/sedan. Rear headrests are smaller than sedan, wagon rear headrests are different from coupe/sedan. If you install sedan rear headrests in coupe, they look like there is no difference-they stay upright and lay flat like coupe ones do. The difference is when you press the release button for them to lay flat in the rear panel. They get hung up against the rear glass and will not lay flat on their own. I put sedan rear headrests in my coupe and they looked fine. I just had to manually lay them flat after activating control switch. Believe vacuum controls are same. Coupe rear sunshade is different from sedan (Very rare to find in USA). I believe it is a few inches larger. The rear shelf panel is different size I believe as well between the coupe and sedan. If yours is faded, just remove and re-dye (I did this on my coupe). Hood/bonnet are same across all versions of the 124, 1987-1993 and are interchangeable between models. They are also the same (different style-facelift) 1994-95 and interchangeable between all models of these years. 94-95 hoods/bonnets will work on all models across the entire run of the 124 but you will need the 94-95 headlights with the updated hood when installing on pre facelift models. Think that is all you asked about. Good luck. |
