A neighbor has a 1986 190e 2.3 (Gas not diesel) with mechanical fuel injection. Just helped him replace the head, and timing chain. Car runs nice when cold, however the fuel seems to vaopr lock when it gets hot. Any directions or thoughts????? Thanks as always.

After engine is warm and ran for a time and then shut off, restarting is very difficult until it cools down.

This type of vapor locking is due to loss of fuel pressure by internal leaks. Most common problem is the accumulator but system pressure reg can also cause it along with fuel pump checks valves and the fuel distributor itself. Verify the pressure loss first.
