Climate Control Panel - 107
Can anyone tell me if the climate control panel for a 450SEL, 300SD (116 body) is exactly the same for a 1979 450SLC (107)?
Thanks. SMW |

Similar, but different...
Hi, assuming the SEL is the same year (76 - 80) as the '79, the internals are similar, but the housing and wood panel is different. Also, the location of the various vacuum switches are different, but the actual parts are the same. You can remove the parts from either panel and interchange them.

Just to be sure I understand, I cannot just take the electical/vacuum part (without the wood panel) as a whole and swap it out. All I could do is pull the 116 control panel apart and swap out the individual pieces. Is that correct?
Thanks. |

Correct...
Hi again,
That's correct. The housings are completely different. But the Pushbutton switch assy and the ac switch and the temp dial all will switch between the two. The 116 housing has four legs on it that attach to the panel, the 107 housing has three tabs.
