anti theft alarm

I thought I had my problem solved but it reappeared again today. The light on the central locking system is back on. Even when I set the alarm it does not flash. Last time I triggered the alarm and the problem was solved. I now cannot trigger the alarm. Is it time to go to the dealer? Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry,It is a 1996 C36

I apologize for not providing the needed info. It is a 1996 C36 with only 3017 miles. I bought it new in 1996. Thanks!!
