I recently purchased a set of Mercedes manuals. In the manual it details the differences between models. My engine has a single timing chain and it seems out of spec. in need of replacement. The manual shows a latter version with two timing chains and assocated sprockets, chain guides,
tensioner etc. Can I retrofit this system? if so what would I need? |

If the engine came w/single chain then it will probaly stay that way, different everything incl. cylinder head & front cover.
A new chain should last at least 125k miles, IF the engine was built after July 1986 or a chain "oiler" was retrofitted. ------------------ MERCEDES BENZ MASTER GUILD TECHNICIAN ASE MASTER TECHNICIAN 27 YEARS M.B. TECH |
