91 300 SL ABS Codes

Is there a way to retrieve the ABS codes without the obscenely expensive M.B. interface tool?
I have the 16 pin squareish diag connector on the pass side firewall.
ABS light on, top module says it is missing speed signal. Ive changed all 3 sensors and the ABS module, OVP relay as well. Brake lights work fine.
If i thought a ouiji board would work, id try communicating with that!
