Rough Idle & Cruse Control Problem 1988 300E

My '88 300E runs well except poor idle and I also get slight surge in acceleration with foot off accelerator when coasting. I was advised to clean or replace air slide and replace injectors. If this sounds correct, what type of solvent to use and, on injectors, any special tools to remove or set up? Replacement parts are Bosch I assume?

Also, cruise control lever works to accelorate, however, it will not hold a steady speed. Any suggestions?

By the way, I have the Mercedes service manuals for my car, but these do not have any real explanation of repairs. The Chilton I bought is poor and covers serveral models - not much depth. Any suggestions?

Lastly, someone recommended non-dust silicone brake pads any recommendations on these as well as year-round M&S tires?

Thank you,
Bill W.
