124 300D Transmission
First question - can the B2 piston be replaced while still on the vehicle, or does the trans have to be removed?
Second question - replacing the pressure control cable ... is it easily gotten to once the pan is removed? Or do other parts have to be removed to get to the "holding" mechanism of the cable? Any thoughts appreciated - Ron |
Tranny-W124
Ron,
try the search engin. I remember I read a good thread about not so long ago. One mentioned it as "doable" on a W126 but nearly impossible with tranny in the W124. Let us part in your knowledge once it's done! Sooner or later, I have to do it too! |
I am going to assume that when you say pressure cable you are refering to the Bowden cable. I just replaced it on my 123 and I had to drop the valve body to be able to disconnect/connect it in the transmission.

It's doable, lower the tranny, drop the exhaust. :-(

Thanks all for the input. Sounds like both will take time and patience.
