Hey Guys,
Still on my 3.0 M103-engined 190E quest, I came across pictures of a car which has been converted. But wait.. that's odd - why do these cars have swapped dipsticks? First, 2phasts 190E M103 (2.6) has it on the right side, looking in: ![]() My own 300TE M103 (3.0) has it on the left: ![]() And the picture of the M103-converted 190E 3.0 I found at THIS PAGE has it on the right again ![]() What's the deal?!

The only M103 engines with the dipstick on the right side here in the US were 4-matics!

But not all of them! My 91 300TE 4-Matic had the stick on the left...

I think maybe you would have to get the complete engine numbers to get the answer 103 XXX. Looks like a design change. I wonder why?
