Air Mass / Air Flow Sensor ????

MANY PEOPLE RECOMMEND THAT I CHANGE THE AIR MASS OR AIR FLOW SENSOR TO IMPROVE PERFORMANCE ON MY 89 300SE.

WHAT DOES IT EXACTLY DO FOR THE CAR AND HOW DOES A BAD SENSOR EFFECT THE CAR'S PERFORMANCE.

You will have idle OR acceleration hesitation problems IF the air flow sensor is bad.
