Last evening at a stop sign after driving several miles, my SRS light illuminated for 3-5 seconds and then went off.

This has occurred a couple of times each for 3-5 seconds.

Is this a routine self-diagnostic? No other sensors have done this that I have noticed.

You need a diagnostic tool to pull trouble codes out from SRS unit then test each code
for faulty sensors or switchs your cause could be the SRS contact ring & contact is worn-out have pro check & test for you.
