Creaking and groaning when applying parking brake...
This is especially obvious when the car is parked facing uphill. Should I adjust the parking brake tension? The suspension doesn't make these noises when going over the roughest roads. It's only when the parking brake is applied.

This is probably benign, but may indicate the rear brakes need work. The tension would only need adjustment if the pedal runs out of travel before the brake is fully applied.
