Transmission Cooler Line

1988 300e - I have a very slow tranny fluid leak that appears to be coming from the union where the right flexible transmission cooler hose coming from the radiator joins the solid metal pipe that heads back toward the transmission. How does this union work? Is there a washer of some sort involved? Just tightening the connection may solve the problem, but I'd like to be prepared in case I have to disconnect the union. Thanks!

Bruce

NO seals at these connections, just a force fit.
ONE fitting is ball shaped & the other side a cone.
