260e expansion valve

Where the heck is this thing located? I'm referring to the expansion valve for my 88 260e.

Tough to replace?

kinda under the cowl on the l/h side between the master cly and fan housing.

Just inboard of the brake booster, kinda under the heater hose. It's a rectangular metal block with four hoses connected - two into the firewall, two towards the front of the car.
