I Have a 93 SL600 that has started to hard shift. Information I have, via a technical bulletin #259, indicates that the protective dust cover on the modulator is devective. Please shed light on this and where is modulator located on the car.

On the drivers side of the transmission!
If the modulator doesn't receive enough vacuum then the shift will be too firm.
