Cleaning A/C drain on 300TE?

Does the A/C drain hose need to be cleaned out once in a while on these cars? (same as 300E). I can find it under the car but have no idea how to clean it out. I found no mention of this on the W124 MB CD or forum search.

The reason I'm asking...my A/C seems to be running a little warmer than usual. When my Volvo 240 A/C would run a little warm, I would clean out the drain and the A/C would run great. I could get to the drain hose by pulling it up through the inside.

I'd like this to be my first step before taking into my mechanic.

Thanks

Before you do that...

Do you see water under you car, specially after a hot day. If you don't, that may be a clue that is NOT draining properly. If it is your original evaporator...chances are:(
However, you can get to the drain tubes either from the bottom with a long plastic probe (be careful, the drain tubes are very fragil) or remove the console and you will see them on each side of the radio (approx. location). Is your carpet wet at front?

water is draining

water is draining and the carpet is not wet. however, it looks like a lessor amount of water than i remember a couple of months ago. i'll give your suggestions a try.

thanks,

The amount of water you see very much depends on how humid it is. But if your system is low on refrigerant and not cooling as well its not going to condense the moisture as well either. I suggest having it checked for leaks.
