190E: Injector problems?

I have an 86' 190E 2.3 8v, and seem to have problems with power and acceleration. If I stomp on the gas, the car would accelerate slowly, but if I let up 1/4 off the petal, I accelerate much faster. Also, my car seems to have trouble accelerating until after around 3000 rpms where the power seems to kick right in. Do I have a problem with the fuel injection? Is it something I need to adjust? Any help would be awesome. Thanks,
Peter V.

Simple...just depress the gas pedal only 3/4. :D
I don't believe the 190E 8V has a reputation of being a rocket. Is your air filter clogged? Exhaust system clogged?

When was the last time you changed the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs? I'd try the basic stuff like that first. Maybe you could run some redline injector cleaner through your tank if you don't get results. A clogged cat converter may cause lack of power too. Good luck.

Sounds like the usual...Fuel system. I'd go with a double dose of techron and a quick plug and air filter change if they are in need. Believe it or not the fuel injectors are not that expensive to get cleaned so you might consider taking it to a good shop.

Peter

There has been recently a lot of running problems on this forum. Do a search. Use my user name. Also search under "runnng problems".

I have a '87 190E that I was considering for purchase that ran VERY poorly. I did the double dose of Techron and it runs great now.

Check the basics also.
