Is there an adjustment to the temperature readout on the dash. Mine always shows a hotter temperature that appears exponentially higher when it's really hot outside.
It was 85 degrees outside and it read 105 in the shade. No, it wasn't recently run and it wasn't in a hot parking lot. ------------------ -Steve |

Since the sensor should be mounted behind the front license plate, that is the temp that you should be seeing. The sensor is a varible resistor & the temp can be changed by adding a resistor in line. Will have to check the specs tomorrow. Make sure the sensor hasn't been in an accident(location).

...but the probe reads fine when it is cool out. Read 70 this morning and it was about right. Only when it gets warmer do the readings get incorrect. And the hotter it gets, the WRONGER the readings get. At a true temperature of about 85, the reading is about 100.
Will a resistor possibly fix this? ------------------ -Steve |

Make sure the sensor is in the correct location, not close to the radiator. Adding any resistor will affect the whole range of operation. The values should be 3750 ohm at 68 deg.F. At 104degF. the value is 1600 ohm. The sensor could be out of range & need replacement.
