Very nice looking MB! Did the previous owner update the hood/headlight assy's? That setup is from the '94/'95 124's. Those machine finsihed alloys look very nice as well -- also from a 94/95 124.

You may want to think about completing the conversion by painting the black bumpers to match your bottom moulding color.

That's exactly what I noticed!

I read the year 1989, looked at the picture of the front of the car and noticed the hood was from a 94/95 model. I then looked at the second picture and noticed that the trunk was also from a 94/95 model.

I looked back at the year, and sure enough, it's an '89 model. Someone went through the trouble of updating the hood / grill and trunk, but didn't paint the front and rear bumper impact strips.

Thanks for the info about my car. Didn't know that my car has new hood and trunk. I will think about painting the bumpers.
This car costed me $7750. Runs nice, no scratches on the paint and the interior is like new too. The engine is using no oil so far. I am willing to invest another $400-500 to make it look and run better.

I edited the picture above in Photoshop so that it looks like the car's front bumper has been painted as suggested. Does it look any better now? What you guys think?

You must be in the U.K., Europe or Australia. A 230E was never sold in the U.S.

Yep, the last upgrade you need to do is to paint the impact strips. Then your car will look identical to a '94/'95 model.

By the way, I don't know about all of Europe, but I know that in Germany the upgrades to the new hood / trunk occurred in 1993, not 1994.

Thumbs up

The painted strips definitely adds the final touch to a very nice and sleek looking Benz.

Very nice car!
