I have a 97 E320 that has had persistent problems with cooling the cabin in hot weather (especially sunny days).
After 4 abortive attempts, my dealer replaced the evaporator and expansion valve and for two weeks I was cool! However, yesterday it reverted back to its old ways. When the cabin is hot, the fan blows max for only a minute or so, then falls back to level 3 - which is not enough to cool down. Even setting the temp control to 60 deg has little effect. Can anyone help me point my dealer in the right direction? |
The in-car temp sensor is responsible for maintaining the correct tempature. It is mounted in the dome lamp assembly, have them check it for correct operation.

Also there were many problems with the blower regulator in this and in the 140 model.
