Oil Accumulation in Spark Plug Wells
 

Fatigued plug well seals in an M119 can result in motor oil filling the plug wells.

Can ignition coil damage/failure result if this oil pooling reaches the top of a plug?

I am going to drag this one up from the depths, because it is similar to a question I have. My C36 has some oil pooling near the #3 plug. The plug is reasonably tight, but I am hesitant to torque it all the way because the threads feel weak. Any suggestions as to what I can do?

This happened to my wife's BMW, found oil in both #2 & #5 plug well. The mechanic changed the gasket.
