underhood work light? 87' 300E
 

I have a small switch near the fender about a foot forward of the brake master cylinder. Should this control an underhood light? I have no light or recepticle for a bulb. Prev. owner had replaced the hood pad insulation with one from the diesel version of 124. Did he perhaps cover it up ? Where exactly would it have been, or is the switch for something else entirely?

Sorry but you do not have a light under the hood. The switch is likely for the security system.
