Does the oil drain plug on a C220 need to be torqued? I changed my oil a week ago, and now I have a leak out of the plug. When I tightened it, I tightened it hand tight + 1 turn with a socket.
Help!!! |

Did you change the washer?
After the problem has been fixed, change oil using A Topsider or Oil Extraction suction device avail. from boat supplies stores. No spills,no leak.MB dealers apparently use this method when they change your oil ------------------ Tom 1992 300E 2.6 |

Yes the oil drain should be torqued and the copper washer should also be replaced. Most quality oil filters will come with a replacement washer.
