1989 230E stalling. fuel distributor?

My 1989,230E(W124,4 cyl,8 valve) stalls every 2-3 days and starts as usual after resting for 1 hour. When it stalled last time I checked the fuel lines on top of fuel distributor. No fuel comes out of the lines. The fuel comes out after 1 hour and then the car starts as usual. The power connection to the fuel distributor is showing 0.5 volts with ignition on, 1 volts during cranking and 0 volts when engine is running.
Why there is no fuel coming out when the car is hot?
What else effects the fuel distibutor's decisions?
How can I diagnose what is wrong with the fuel distributor?

I am not familiar with your car but,

Didi you do a search on the fuel pump relay or OVP?

How can an OVP cause a no start condition?
Shouldn't the car run even without the OVP?
I will replace the fuel relay but don't think that is the problem.

Have you checked your fuel pump after the stall.

Check the DIY section under evaluating electronic engine controls.

I mentioned the OVP because of the stalling. It could also be a defective fuel pump. Did you tap the fuel pump as someone suggested recently on a different post?
Good luck!

Next time when the car stalls I will try tapping the fuel pump and write you all if that helpes.
Thanks replies.

found the problem part

My car stalled again. Tapping on the fuel pump didn't help. Than I tapped on the fuel pressure regulator and the car started right up. I did this 3-4 times when the car stalled. I am thinking that the fuel pressure regulator was possibly causing a too high or too low pressure at the fuel line that was making the car stall.
If anyone knows a way to fix the fuel pressure regulator please help me out.
