Major lock problem, please help!!
 

Hi

I recently sold my 300SE to my next door neighbour. The car has a problem, where the driver's door has a different key to ignition and all other doors. (so basically door lock had been broken at some point, and some dumb ass replaced lock with different one).

The keys for my old 300se have been stolen. My neighbour ordered new keys from mercedes, expecting them to only fit passenger door, trunk and ignition, but obviously not drivers door.

Now the tricky part: The key fits nothing!!!!!!

All chasis numbers and engine numbers etc were confirmed with MB, and the keys just don't fit.

Any ideas guys? Is it and expensive job to replace all locks and ignition?

The part number is dependant on the chassis number & whether the car is equipped with an alarm system. LIST price is $800. here(USA) for a complete lock set!!!

Would have a locksmith make a new key for the car!!

Or install a keyless entry system!
